In the series “Tiny Time Glitch” Jeannette Jansen addresses the notion of glitch, a term much used in information technology to define the capricious disturbance in digital matter.
The tools used are an iPhone camera and the hand movements only constraint by its physical limitations. By submitting the image to the effect of a mechanical glitch Jansen attempts to stretch its uncanny fictional quality.
Due to the noise applied to mostly still life pictures they become fragments of duration. Actually what we perceive are slices of condensed movement which seem to contradict the very notion of stillness characteristic of such genre.
